Discolypso have really gone all out on this release, backing three brand-new jams by legendary Cosmic disco producers with no less than eleven remixes. We’ll start with Baldelli and Dionigi’s originals, with title track ‘Tropical City’, a gorgeous, humid and jazzy slab of Balearic nu-disco, being followed by the squelchy cosmic funk of ‘Stabile’ and the attractive, synth-heavy cosmic disco colour of ‘Around The Curve’. The remix package is as strong as it is epic, with our picks of a very strong bunch being Dan Tyler’s deliciously spacey and dubbed-out takes on ‘Tropical City’, Rune Lindbaek’s dub disco pass of the same track, Danilo Braca’s sweet, breakbeat-driven and morning-fresh version of ‘Around The Curve’ and the Discolypso Crew’s ultra-cosmic disco re-wire of ‘Stabile’.
Daniele Baldelli & Dionigi return to Discolypso for a full length EP featuring 3 new cosmic tracks, accompanied by 11 remixes from a selection of world class producers. Fresh from remixing Dombrance on our last record – we are now thrilled to release this full EP from two genuine legends of Italian dance music.
Daniele Baldelli, is often described as the “father of all Italian DJs” and a true pioneer of the 80’s Cosmic Disco sound. Marco Dionigi is revered for his hypnotic dark wave productions, is an in-demand DJ and in recent years has become a regular studio partner of Mr Baldelli.
This new EP ‘Tropical City’ is an exotic melting pot of melodies and rhythms – suitable for a steamy jungle….or a far away planet.
This EP is versatile, and can be enjoyed both by sipping a sunset cocktail close to lapping waves, or under the full moon light of a jungle rave.
The remix ensemble combines well-known names with underground legends, all expressing their creativity with diverse and unique interpretations.

Scandinavian space disco stalwart Rune Lindbaek transports ‘Tropical City’ into a space-funk workout!
UK hero Man Power has blessed us with two versions – a deep, hypnotic dance mix that will spiral any party into new unchartered directions, and a beautifully haunting Eno-esq ambient experiment.
NYC based Italian DJ / Producer Danilo Braca has added strings and eery vocals to ‘Around the Curve’ infusing his balearic influence to the song.
Rich Lane aka Cotton Bud takes ‘Around the Curve’ into a more chugging direction paired with an Acid-flashback dub revision 🙂
Things take a darker turn towards the end of the EP….Regular Discolypso collaborator and label boss of the reputable Golden Soul – Mr James Rod delivers again with a tense and pounding arpeggiated workout.
Fellow Spaniard K-Effect takes on the same track, fusing badass beats and synths with a sleazy bass line, a remix made for dark sweaty rooms!
Finally, for you listening pleasure, the Discolypso Crew deliver a laid back end to proceedings
